Thank you to our Sponsors;
2020 has brought challenges to us all. However we are happy to share that Festival 2021 is confirmed for the weekend of February 14th, 2021. It will be virtual, it will be fun and it will be fully led by our amazing youth team who are planning, promoting, creating and hosting this event just for you!
Bring on the Sunshine (BOTS) has hosted a family day festival since 2010 which typically sees 3-5000 people attend each year. The schedule on the day includes a full musical stage line up, a market place with diverse and artisan items, and workshops such as drumming, dance and more. Although 2021 will be a bit different we look forward to sharing with you the warmth and vibrancy of African cultures!
The BOTS Youth Leadership Program launched 2015, creating leadership development opportunities for young people of colour who are supported and mentored by their community. These youth learn how to host a large event, develop their soft skills and create community networks that will support them as they move forward. They also experience welcome and belonging in the Waterloo Region community that affirms and celebrates their unique identities.
Bring on the Sunshine is a grass roots event that our community feels proud ,it highlights the best and the brightest of who we are as a community and invites everyone of all cultures to come and celebrate.
It is amazing to see people of every nation come an rejoice in an African way. From the youngest to the oldest, everyone can be stimulated by the constant uproar of performances, music, traditional attires, delicious food, activities and vendors galore.
